Where to go in Chicago for the Holidays

Morton Arboretum Holiday Lights

Take a magical walk through the one-mile illuminated path with integrated video and sound media plus interactive elements. This year, enjoy the dancing lights of the new Symphony Woods featuring the music of the Nutcracker Suite and enjoy the Meadow Lake Magic where lights create the illusion of skipping stones.

Christkindlmarket

This is Chicago’s largest holiday open-air market that is a favorite amongst locals and tourists alike. Inspired by a Nuremberg, Germany, the market was originally founded in 1545. It features German items like nutcrackers, cuckoo clocks and beer steins, as well as great holiday ornaments and gifts. Authentic food and drinks are also available! The event is free.

Skating

Even when temperatures get cold, you can still have outdoor fun! Especially when you have easy access to so many of the city’s excellent indoor and outdoor skating rinks. Between the many Christmas events you’re attending, time reserved rooting for the Blackhawks and nights out sipping steamy hot cocktails, find time to hit the ice with your family and friends this winter! White Christmas

How about a musical show? Taking a limo for the evening will make it extra special. The show White Christmas is sure to get you in the holiday spirit! The show is based on the 1954 classic Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney-led film about two performing duos who spend their holiday prepping a revue meant to save the Vermont Inn they’re visiting from financial ruin.
